Growing through change.

Photo taken 10/22/2021

My body has changed a lot over the years.. and especially within the last 6 months. My transition from professional athlete to everyday athlete has proven to be incredibly rewarding, but also incredibly difficult.

I’m learning that mental/emotional progress plays a huge role in physical progress. Working towards new mindsets and thought patterns takes work. Hard work. And the process isn’t always linear. Often times, it’s three steps forward, two steps back.

Things that have helped my mind, body, & spirit:

* MORE rest.

* MORE breathing exercises + journaling.

* MORE healthy conversations, digging deeper into the WHY. Aka finding a nutritionist ( @m2performancenutrition ) and therapist you trust! Plus surrounding yourself with people who speak life into you.

* LESS exercise. Working out for health is important, but requires less intensity and less volume.

* LESS weighing & measuring (I still use this often as a tool, but give myself freedom to take time off).

* LESS guilt & shame.

The most common thing I hear from women is that they feel alone in disordered thoughts and patterns. They feel that there is no hope when it comes to food freedom or their relationship with their body. THERE IS HOPE 🤍 Some days are better than others and there’s still a ton that I’m working on to become the HEALTHIEST (not smallest) version of myself.

This picture is from this morning. Been at maintenance calories for almost 5 months. Focused on decreasing stress and aiming to workout 5 days a week.
